AUSTIN -- KVUE extends our sympathies to the family of Texas State Senator Leticia Van de Putte.
Her infant grandson, Rex Van de Putte has passed away.
A statement from the senator's office asks for everyone to keep the family in their prayers.

"It is with great sadness that we announce that this morning, Rex Van de Putte, the infant grandson of Senator Van de Putte, passed away. The Senator and her husband Pete are heartbroken, and ask that the public respect the family?s privacy in this tragic time. Senator Van de Putte and Pete ask everyone to pray for their family, including Rex?s parents, Gregory and Samantha, and his brothers, Elliot and Asher."
